Every March, we honor the brilliance of women — past, present, and especially those at *instinctools. This year, our theme for IWD was SheLeads, with a focus on the outstanding accomplishments of women as leaders and visionaries.

“It’s inspiring to work with so many smart, talented, and passionate women. I’m glad we have this yearly tradition of promoting open and meaningful conversations to advance gender equality further,” says Gunthilde Sohn, one of the managing directors who has been at the helm of *instinctools since the company’s early days.

Walking the talk: empowering women in tech through action

Throughout the first week of the month, we held a series of SheLeads workshops dedicated to women in tech and their well-being.

We invited guest experts in IT, psychology, and fitness to cover a range of topics from career growth and balancing it with other roles women take on to simple everyday health practices:

  • “Women in Tech: Why Communities Matter”: Microsoft’s Product Manager highlighted the power of local tech communities in career development and the importance of visible female role models.
  • “Motherhood and Self-Fulfillment: Balancing Motherhood With Personal Ambitions”: a Master of Psychology and Sociology addressed the challenges that still exist for women who want to make an impact in their careers while parenting.
  • “Breathing: How to Feel Better Every Day”: a fitness trainer provided attendants with mini-complexes of exercises to ease everyday stress and desk-job tension.

While studies estimate that it will take at least 50 years to reach gender parity and equal representation of women and men in managing positions, we aim to provide our female employees with a place where they can thrive right now
